I remember being 17 years old and feeling the weight of deciding what I would do for the following years of my life. I just wanted to know what my purpose was. What was it that I was supposed to do? Be a doctor, a psychologist, a social worker, a writer. I just wanted someone to tell me what to do, and as a result, I was filled with fear, and so many anxious thoughts filled my mind.

- What if I get it wrong?

- What if I am miserable and hate what I am doing?

- What if I miss the point of my life entirely?

Naturally, these questions lingered in my mind, and I'm sure they have also remained in many of yours. I suppose my question to you would be, what is it that you think you are looking for? What goal, major, or job do you think will give you complete and entire purpose? What do you think will provide you with life and life abundantly?

Maybe I can't tell you what your future job will be, but I can very quickly tell you what your purpose is, and I can tell you how knowing your goal will allow you to know all things to pursue. I want to start by telling you this: God has created you with a purpose and plan for your life, and you have to know who made it for you to see that purpose and plan. In John 10:10, Jesus has stated to us that he Has come to give us life and life abundantly. I don't know about you, but if I know who gives life, I want to be the first to seek what that life looks like. After years of pursuing this life, I can tell you it is not about what you do but more about who you do it for.

1 Corinthians 10:31 tell us, "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." So let me ask you, whose glory are you living for? If you live for your own, do you genuinely believe that that will give you your purpose and meaning? That it is there, you will find all the answers?

This is what I have found as is sought God's will: Finding God's will for your life begins once you've let go of your own

Romans 12:1-2 demonstrates, "And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good, pleasing, and perfect." Therefore, to know God's good, pleasing, and perfect will, Paul tells us, is done through worship. Note that worship is not about ourselves at all but instead about the Glory and power of God. To worship God is done by three things already stated within these two verses.

1. Present yourself as a living sacrifice, seek to serve others more than yourself

2. Live a life that is holy and pleasing to the Lord. Be obedient to Him, let your life replicate His, and seek Him First. (Matthew 6:33) (John 14: 21) we don't find God's will; he reveals it to us, so be obedient to Him!

3. Don't listen to this world but renew your mind with Truth. Abide daily in the Word. Devote yourself to knowing what the Bible has to say about the life of Christ. Additionally, surround yourself with people who are renewing their minds with Truth. And allow godly people to help you decipher Scripture's words about the Lord's Will. And share that with others, those who know and those who don't.

Overall, the result of living in true worship is that you will be able to discern God's good, pleasing, and perfect will. And this is what I can promise you is the result of what Psalm 37 tells us when we delight in the Lord, and He will give us the desires of our hearts. This does not mean that he will provide us with what we want, but instead, it is saying that when our heart aligns with His, His passions and desires for us become our own. Therefore, when we live out these three things, we can trust that His desires and purpose for us are His, and He will guide and direct us.

Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways, submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

We have gone through passages telling us that it is not about our purpose or will but his. Our life is not ours, and I don't know about you, but that is a relief to me. If it were up to me, if it were about me, I think I would mess up my life repeatedly. I would miss the point. My school professor has always told me that we are created to worship God, glorify His name, and make His name known. That is our purpose. That is an excellent commission for us. So, it doesn't matter what you are doing. Whether you are a doctor, nurse, social worker, pastor, or missionary, if your heart is to glorify the Lord through worship and making His name known, I promise you are doing the will of the Lord. Nothing is more rewarding and fulfilling than a lifegiving devotion and relationship with the Lord.

All I can say is this if we are not given this lifegiving relationship, what would the point be? Where is it that we would have hope? If you know where your hope comes from, everything shifts. Why would you seek anything else if you know the Truth if you know the reward?

The safest place to be in your life is not your passions, achievements, or pursuits; it is in the Will of the Lord. This does not mean that you will have great wealth, safety, or health, but you will be satisfied, complete, and know where you belong and to whom it is.

Therefore, the simple action is to be obedient to pursuing God.

1. Present yourself as a living sacrifice

2. Live a life holy to the Lord

3. Know the Word of God and tell of the Word of God

By doing these three things, I promise you will see the Holy Spirit navigating the way of your life; you only need to walk in it.

The last thing I want to leave you with is reminding you of Proverbs 27:1, which reminds us that we are not even promised tomorrow. Your purpose, will, and worth will not start in the future, but it starts right now. Be active in pursuing God today so that whatever it is that comes, in the end, is the Lord's will, and He has been preparing you for it. Be obedient and pursue God today.
